BMW 3 Series Spied In India Ahead Of Launch 2019 have on new look
2019 BMW 3 Series has entered production at the company plant in Munich. It will be brought into India via CKD kits, which will then be assembled at the BMW India plant in Chennai. Launch is expected in the coming weeks.
New BMW 3 Series is sold internationally in variants that include 320i, 330i, M340i xDrive 318d, 320d, 320d xDrive, 330d and 330e. However, in India, the range will include the 330i petrol and 320d diesel variants. Built on a a new generation platform, it will be seen with several exterior updates while the interiors too have been thoroughly updated in terms of technology and safety features.
7th generation BMW 3 Series grows in dimensions as compared to its outgoing counterpart. It measures 4,709 mm in length, 1,827 mm in width and 1,441 mm in height, thus making the new BMW 3 Series 76 mm longer, 16 mm wider and 1 mm taller than its predecessor. The wheelbase is also increased by 41mm to measure 2,851mm resulting in spacious and hence more comfortable interiors.
Exteriors are seen with Adaptive LED headlamps with BMW Laser Light, 19” alloy wheels, BMW kidney grille, L shaped LED lamps at the rear and a twin pipe exhaust system. BMW Live Cockpit Professional consists of a 12.3” virtual fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.25” central control display. It also receives BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant responding to “Hey BMW” as a first for any BMW model along with BMW Head-Up Display with 70% larger projection area.
In India, the BMW 3 Series 330i will be powered by a 2.0 liter petrol engine offering 258 PS power and 400 Nm torque. The 320d gets a 2.0 liter diesel engine offering 190 PS power and 400 Nm torque mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission sending power to rear wheels.
With launch date slated for sometime in June 2019, prices can be expected to start from around Rs.40 lakhs. It will rival the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, refreshed Audi A4 and Jaguar XE.
